Our Services
Treatment Types
We construct bespoke treatment plans for each and every patient, based on thorough examinations, from the first consult, to the last session. Each treatment plan is specifically tailored to target a patient's conditions and recovery time, so as to achieve maximum health in the shortest period of time.
We offer a wide range of treatments that include:
Chiropractic
Chiropractic adjustments are by far the world's most widely-used form of chiropractic treatment, with approximately 96% of chiropractors using this for 70% of their patients.
It is characterized by a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is proven to help restore alignment of the spine, bringing back proper spinal movement, and eliminating joint dysfunction.
This is effective in relieving migraines, neck strains, lower back issues and scoliosis.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation utilizes physical therapy and specially designed exercises to help a patient regain his or her physical skills lost, that might be lost or compromised as the result of illness or injury.
In sports rehabilitation, this usually refers to the process, commencing at the time of injury or operation, until the time when athletes regains their previous performance level.
Our rehabilitation program is specially constructed to restore patients' optimal performance level in the shortest time possible, allowing them to compete at they could pre-injury.
Sports Injury
Sport injuries can occur during daily exercise or in athletic events like competitions, half marathons, or trail races, with sprains and strains being the most commonly sustained.
Sprains are injuries of the ligaments - the tough band that connect the bones in a joint - where sudden stretching past its elastic limit can lead to micro tears and deformities. Strains, on the other hand, are “pulled muscles” that are overstretched or overused, causing tears in the muscle fibres or tendons. Mild to moderate conditions can be treated with the application of the PRICE (Protection, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) method.
Sport injuries may take weeks or months to heal; however, with the early intervention of expert chiropractic care, the healing time can be dramatically shortened, allowing athletes to return to their sport in the shortest possible time.
Graston Technique
Since 1994, Graston Technique® (GT) has been the leading modality in Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
GT enables clinicians to effectively address muscle scar tissue and fascial restrictions and maintain optimal range of motion in their patients.
GT is clinically proven to achieve faster and better outcomes for acute and chronic conditions such as Achilles Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel, Adhesive Capsulitis, IT Band Syndrome, Lumbar Strain and Plantar Fasciitis.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a Western medical technique that is administered by inserting fine needles into palpated muscle trigger and tender points. It is clinically proven to help relieve pain and spasms, as well as reduce inflammation.
Although identical needles are used, this technique is different from Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Acupuncture therapy; it is guided by Western medical concepts and evidence-based clinical studies.
The process is simple and safe, and it can be incorporated into a patient’s treatment plan as an adjunct therapy that complements well with Chiropractic care. It is highly effective in treating tendinopathy-type conditions, acute and chronic conditions causing pain or loss in mobility, and aids in muscle relaxation.
Kinesiotaping
The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process.
It provides support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It also provides extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy used within the clinical setting.
Kinesio Taping can be applied in many ways and helps re-train the neuro-muscular system, reduce pain and inflammation, optimize performance, prevent injury, promote good circulation, healing, and assist in returning the body to homeostasis.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Chiropractic?
The Chiropractic profession is the world's largest complementary healthcare solution that is proven effective in treating musculoskeletal conditions without the use of drugs or surgery. It focuses on treating the root cause of potential issues rather than just the symptoms.
The study of Chiropractic Science specialises in the important structures of the body, with a strong focus on the spine. The spinal cord - the main pathway of the nervous system - is located within the canal space of the spine and functions as the nerve superhighway, transmitting signals between the brain and the rest of the body. All bodily functions and movements are essentially linked by this system.
As such, a subluxation or misalignment of the spine can affect the spinal nerve as it exits the spinal cord, leading to many common physical wellbeing issues - conditions like headache, pain the neck or the lower back, numbness or tingling in extremities, slipped disc, and many others. A chiropractic adjustment helps to realign the spine which releases pressure on pinched nerves and other irritations, thereby providing relief.
2. What is the difference between Chiropractic and Physiotherapy?
Chiropractic emphasizes in restoring the alignment of the spine to its optimal function. Once the spine is optimally aligned, nerve irritations are eliminated, hence allowing the body to heal itself. Physiotherapy, on the other hand, focuses on the stretching and strengthening of the muscles.
Research has also show that when Chiropractic is used in conjunction with Physiotherapy, patients experience faster recovery and better outcomes in both acute and chronic conditions.
In our clinic, we practice a combination of both studies to benefit patients with the most comprehensive care of their conditions.
3. When should I see a Chiropractor?
Are you experiencing symptoms such as body aches and pain? These are your body’s way of telling you that “something is wrong”. We think we can help. Book an initial consultation with us and we are confident of giving you an accurate prognosis.
While it is common for a patient to come to us only when exhibiting symptoms, our chiropractic adjustments help realign minute spinal misalignments, which benefits every patient and restores a sense of well-being, even without any symptoms present
4. What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?
Here at Neo Chiropractic, we are experts in the Diversified technique. The Diversified technique is the most common methodology of chiropractic adjustments and is the most widely used. Using this technique, the chiropractor physically moves the joint with a small, but fast, impulse that causes an articular release - what patients often refer to as “cracking”.
The sound that one hears or feels during an adjustment does not actually originate from the bone; it is simply a release of gas pressure within the joint.
This release helps to increase mobility in the joint, as well as relieve pressure on the nerve endings that surround it. This is extremely effective as patients can feel an increase in movement and a significant decrease in pain immediately after treatment.
5. How safe and how effective are Adjustments?
Chiropractic adjustments are widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, and non-invasive therapies for the treatment of neck and back pain. They are very safe and effective in the hands of a qualified chiropractor.
However, particularly in Asian countries, many unethical individuals are doing unqualified forms of spinal adjustment in the guise of body massages.
This is potentially dangerous. Patients are required undergo thorough examinations and medical history review by a qualified chiropractor before having spinal adjustments or manipulation performed, as some conditions are greatly affected by forceful manipulation.
6. Do you offer other modalities with Adjustments?
Yes. Besides chiropractic adjustments for the treatment of your health conditions, we also utilize other therapeutic modalities to enhance the healing process.
We use various electrotherapies such as interferential (IFC), Russians and ultrasound that help reduce muscle spasms, increase circulation and decrease pain. Our special motorized flexion/distraction tables provide both active and passive mobilization of the spine, assisting in the treatment of many type of back conditions.
The Graston technique, also known as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Arthrostim, Dry Needling, Kinesiotaping, Hot Pack and Cold Pack are adjunct therapies that are also available at our clinic.
7. Do I need an X-ray for treatment?
Imaging is a test that is commonly ordered by other clinics - but is it not necessarily needed for every patient. It is used for evaluation, diagnosis and to monitor condition progression in some cases (for example, adolescent scoliosis - the lateral curvature of the spine).
At Neo Chiropractic, we only recommend imaging when it is medically necessarily - based on a patient’s age, nature, and chronicity of the condition. Recommending that a patient undergo an X-ray, even when it is not medically needed, is unethical and subjects the patient to unnecessary radiation.
In short, many conditions can be diagnosed and treated without the use of imaging.
8. Can I see a Chiropractor if I am pregnant?
Yes. Pregnancy brings about an increased stress on the back, especially the lower back area. Chiropractic care is highly effective in easing pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy and also helps with an easier delivery. Treatments are specifically tailored based on the stage of pregnancy, and the needs of the soon-to-be mother.
9. Are there many athletes who use Chiropractic?
Yes. Many athletes place on their body extraordinary physical stress when they are undergoing training to strive for better performance. Chiropractic care can help to alleviate physical stress on the body, the nervous system, and can also increase the optimum function of the spine. Rehabilitation exercises combined with chiropractic care effectively prevent injury and enhance performance.
