FLEXION DISTRACTION THERAPY

The Flexion Distraction Therapy, otherwise also known as the Flexion Distraction Decompression is a chiropractic technique which is used to treat several lower back (lumbar spine) problems such as slipped discs, lower back pain, sciatica, scoliosis and spinal stenosis. It is a non-invasive technique focused on enhancing one’s spinal motion and resolving disc bulges and herniations that involves a unique table to distract, flex and manipulate the spine in automated and gentle rhythmic motions. This will be complemented by manual techniques with the table, allowing the spine to move in the correct manner which removes pressure from the disc bulges by creating a negative pressure that pulls them back into the spine. Not only do these rhythmic motions correct the spine, but they also help maintain healthy discs through imbibition, which is the proper hydration and absorption of nutrients by our spinal discs.

Through this gentle and non-force therapy, pressure on the spinal nerves from disc bulges and herniations will be reduced significantly with the proper and needful care taken into consideration. The Flexion Distraction Technique is an excellent procedure that works well to take pressure off the spinal nerves that may be injured or dysfunctional and is a safe and conservative option as opposed to surgery to provide pain relief for slipped discs (herniated discs), and lower spine stiffness.
