DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling, also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling is an alternative Western medicine technique administered by inserting fine needles into palpated muscle trigger and tender points. Trigger points are knotted areas sometimes found in our muscles that are highly sensitive which can be painful when touched. It is clinically proven to help relieve pain and spasms as well as reduce inflammations.

Do take note that although identical needles are used, this technique is different from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture therapy; dry needling is guided by Western medical concepts and evidence-based clinical studies.

The process is straightforward and safe, and can be incorporated into a patient’s treatment plan as an adjunct therapy that complements well with Chiropractic care. It is highly effective in treating tendinopathy-related conditions, acute and chronic conditions causing pain or loss in mobility, which also aids in muscle relaxation.
